11TH ANNUAL SGA BALTIC STUDENT CHAPTER MEETING

This year, the SGA Baltic Student Chapter celebrates its 10th anniversary! On this occasion we would like to invite all of you to a special annual chapter meeting held at AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (Poland) this October.

Preliminary programme (subject to change):

  • 20th October: registration, visit in the historic Wieliczka salt mine near Kraków, transport to the Lubin-Głogów area for field trip participants
  • 21th October: visit in the underground mine to see world famous Cu-Ag Kupferschiefer deposit (limited number of places), transport back to Kraków
  • 22th October: shortcourse focused on zinc deposits - Prof. Sarah Gleeson (GFZ-Potsdam)
  • 23th October: shortcourse focused on sedimentary rock-hosted copper deposits - Prof. Murray W. Hitzman (iCRAG)
  • 24th October: visit in the Pomorzany Zn-Pb mine near Kraków (a classic example of MVT deposit (highly limited number of places), invited presentations, anniversary celebration
  • 25th October: student scientific session and geo-quiz

Participation fee:
  • 10 EUR - SGA/SEG student members
  • 40 EUR - non SGA/SEG members
Registration deadline - 4th October 2019
Abstract submission deadline - 4th October 2019

Limited number of travel grants will be available for SGA Baltic Chapter members(outside Poland). Size of travel grants is highly dependable on amount of people attending the meeting and it will be announced at the end of September.

Accomodation Kraków has a numerous amount of great hostels, hotels, airbnb flats and places to stay. Hostel prices starts from 6-15EUR per person in dorm and ~35EUR for double room in hotel.
